I know this is long... but it is awesome!

A California Lawyer's Perspective on the Iraq War.Sixty-three years ago, Nazi Germany had overrun almost all of Europe and hammered England to the verge of bankruptcy and defeat, and had sunk more than four hundred British ships in their convoys between England and America for food and war materials.

Bushido Japan had overrun most of Asia, beginning in 1928, killing millions of civilians throughout China, and impressing millions more as slave labor.
The United States was in an isolationist, pacifist mood and most of the Americans wanted nothing to do with the European war, or the Asian war.

Then along came Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and in outrage, Congress unanimously declared war on Japan, and the following day on Germany, which had not attacked us. It was a dicey thing and we had few allies.

France was not an ally, the Vichy government of France aligned with its German occupiers. Germany was not an ally, it was an enemy, and Hitler intended to set up a Thousand Year Reich in Europe. Japan was not an ally, it was intent on owning and controlling all of Asia. Japan and Germany had long-term ideas of invading Canada and Mexico, and then the United States over the north and south borders, after they had settled control of Asia and Europe.

America's allies then were England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, Australia, and Russia, and that was about it. There were no other countries of any size or military significance with the will or ability to contribute much or anything to the effort to defeat Germany and/or Japan, and prevent the global dominance of Nazism. We had to send millions of tons of arms, munitions, and war supplies to Russia, England, and the Canadians, Aussies, Irish, and Scots, because none of them could produce all they needed for themselves. All of Europe, from Norway to Italy, except Russia in the east, was already under the Nazi heel.

America was not prepared for war. America had stood down most of its military after WWI and throughout the depression, at the outbreak of WWII there were army units training with broomsticks because they didn't have guns, and cars with "tank" painted on the doors because they didn't have tanks. A big chunk of our navy had just been sunk or damaged at Pearl Harbor.

Britain had already gone bankrupt, saved only by the donation of $600 million in gold bullion in the Bank of England that was the property of Belgium and was given by Belgium to England to carry on the war when Belgium was overrun by Hitler. Belgium surrendered one day, because it was unable to oppose the German invasion, and the Germans bombed Brussels into rubble the next day just to prove they could. Britain had been holding out for two years in the face of staggering shipping loses and the near-decimation of its air force in the Battle of Britain. It was saved from being overrun by Germany only because Hitler made the mistake of thinking the Brits were a minor threat that could be dealt with later and he turned his attention to Russia, at a time when England was on the verge of collapse in the late summer of 1940.

Russia saved America's bacon by putting up a desperate fight for two years until the US got geared up to begin hammering away at Germany.

Russia lost something like 24 million people in the sieges of Stalingrad and Moscow, 90% of them from cold and starvation, mostly civilians, but also more than a million soldiers. Had Russia surrendered then, Hitler would have been able to focus his entire campaign against the Brits, then America, and the Nazis would have won that war.

Had Hitler invaded England in 1940 or 1941 instead, there would have been no England for the US and the Brits to use as a staging ground to prepare an assault on Nazi Europe. England would not have been able to run its North African campaign to help take a little pressure off Russia while America geared up for battle. Today Europe would be run by the Third Reich. Isolated and without allies, the US would very probably have had to cede Asia to the Japanese, who were basically Nazis by another name then, and the world we live in today would be very different.
I say all this to illustrate that turning points in history are often dicey things and we are at another one.

There is a dangerous minority in Islam that either has, or wants and may soon have, the ability to deliver small nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons, almost anywhere in the world, unless they are prevented from doing so.

It is now an indisputable fact that France, Germany, and Russia, have been selling them weapons technology at least as recently as 2002, as have North Korea, Syria, and Pakistan, paid for with billions of dollars Saddam Hussein skimmed from the "Oil For Food" program administered by the UN with the complicity of Kofi Annan and his son.

The Jihadis, the militant Muslims, are basically Nazis in Kaffiyahs - they believe that Islam, a radically form of Wahhabi Islam, should own and control the Middle East first, then Europe, then the world, and that all who do not bow to Allah should be killed, enslaved, or subjugated. They want to finish the Holocaust, destroy Israel, purge the world of Jews. This is what they say.

There is a civil war raging in the Middle East - for the most part not a hot war, but a war of ideas. Islam is having its Inquisition and its Reformation today, but it is not yet known which one will win - the Inquisition, or the Reformation.

If the Inquisition wins, the Wahhabis (Jihadis) will control the Middle East, and the OPEC oil. The United States, European, and Asian economies and the techno-industrial economies, will be at the mercy of a new OPEC - not an OPEC dominated by the well-educated and rational Saudis of today, but an OPEC dominated by the Jihadis. You want gas in your car? You want heating oil next winter? You want jobs? You want the dollar to be worth anything? You better hope the Muslim Inquisition loses and the Islamic Reformation wins.

If the Reformation movement wins, that is, the moderate Muslims who believe that Islam can respect and tolerate other religions, live in peace with the rest of the world and move out of the 10th century into the 21st, then the troubles in the Middle East will eventually fade away, and a moderate and prosperous Middle East will emerge.

We have to help the Reformation win, and to do that we have to fight the Inquisition, i.e., the Wahhabi movement, the Jihad, Al Qaeda, the Islamic terrorist movements. We have to do it somewhere. We cannot do it everywhere at once. We have created a focal point for the battle now at the time and place of our choosing, in Iraq. Not in New York, not in Paris, London, or Berlin, but in Iraq, where we have done two very important things.
(1) We deposed Saddam Hussein. Whether Saddam Hussein was directly involved in 9/11 or not, it is undisputed that Saddam has been actively supporting the terrorist movement for decades. Saddam is a terrorist who is responsible for the deaths of probably more than a million Iraqis and two million Iranians.
(2) We created a battle, a confrontation, a flash point with Islamic terrorism in Iraq. We have focused the battle. We are killing bad guys there and the ones we get there we won't have to get here, or anywhere else. We also have a good shot at creating a democratic, peaceful Iraq, which will be a catalyst for democratic change in the rest of the Middle East and an outpost for a stabilizing American military presence in the Middle East for as long as it is needed.

The Europeans could have done this, but they didn't, and they won't. We now know that rather than opposing the rise of the Jihad, the French, Germans, and Russians were selling them arms. We have found more than a million tons of weapons and munitions in Iraq. If Iraq was not a threat to anyone, why did Saddam need a million tons of weapons?

We also now know that Iraq was paying for French, German, and Russian arms with money skimmed from the UN Oil For Food Program that was supposed to pay for food, medicine, and education, for Iraqi children.

World War II really began with a "whimper" in 1928. It did not begin with Pearl Harbor. It began with the Japanese invasion of China. It was a war for fourteen years before America joined it. It officially ended in 1945 - a 17 year war - and was followed by another decade of US occupation in Germany and Japan to get those countries reconstructed and running on their own again .. a 27 year war.

World War II cost the United States an amount equal to approximately
one full year's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) - adjusted for inflation, equal to about $12 trillion dollars. WWII cost America more than 400,000 killed in action, and nearly 100,000 missing in action. The Iraq war has, so far, cost the US about $160 billion, which is roughly what the 9/11 attack cost New York. It has also cost about 2,200 American lives, which is roughly 2/3 of the 3,000 lives that the Jihad snuffed on 9/11. But the cost of not fighting and winning WWII would have been unimaginably greater - a world now dominated by German and Japanese Nazism.

Americans have a short attention span conditioned, I suppose, by 60 minute TV shows and 2-hour movies in which everything comes out okay.The real world is not like that. It is messy, uncertain, sometimes bloody and ugly. Always has been, and probably always will be.

If we do this thing in Iraq successfully, it is probable that the Reformation will ultimately prevail. Many Muslims in the Middle East hope it will. We will be there to support it. It has already begun in some countries, like Libya, Dubai and Saudi Arabia. If we fail, the Inquisition will probably prevail, and terrorism from Islam will be with us for the foreseeable future, because the Inquisition, or Jihad, believes they are called by Allah to kill all the Infidels, and that death in Jihad is glorious.

The bottom line here is that we will have to deal with Islamic terrorism until we defeat it, whenever that is. It will not go away on its own. It will not go away if we ignore it.

If the US can create a reasonably democratic and stable Iraq, then we have an "England" in the Middle East, a platform, from which we can work to help modernize and moderate the Middle East. The history of the world is the clash between the forces of relative civility and civilization, and the barbarians clamoring at the gates. The Iraq war is merely another battle in this ancient and never ending war. And now, for the first time ever, the barbarians are about to get nuclear weapons. Unless somebody prevents them. T

he Iraq war is expensive, and uncertain, yes. But the consequences of not fighting and winning it will be horrifically greater. We have 4 options:
1. We can defeat the Jihad now, before it gets nuclear weapons.
2. We can fight the Jihad later, after it gets nuclear weapons (which may be as early as next year, if Iran's progress on nuclear weapons is what they claim it is).
3. We can surrender to the Jihad and accept its dominance in the Middle East, now, in Europe in the next few years or decades, and ultimately in America.
4. We can stand down now, and pick up the fight later when the Jihad is more widespread and better armed, perhaps after the Jihad has dominated France and Germany and likely most of the rest of Europe. It will then be more dangerous, more expensive, and much bloodier.

The Jihadis say they look forward to an Islamic America. If you oppose this war, I hope you like the idea that your children, or grandchildren, may live in an Islamic America under the Mullahs and the Sharia, an America that resembles Iran today.

We can be defeatist peace-activists as anti-war types seem to be, and surrender to the Jihad, or we can do whatever it takes to win this war against them.The history of the world is the history of civilizational clashes, cultural clashes. All wars are about ideas, ideas about what society and civilization should be like, and the most determined always win. Those who are willing to be the most ruthless always win. The pacifists always lose, because the anti-pacifists kill them.

In the 20th century, it was Western democracy vs. communism, and before that Western democracy vs. Nazism, and before that Western democracy vs. German Imperialism. Western democracy won, three times, but it wasn't cheap, fun, nice, easy, or quick. Indeed, the wars against German Imperialism (WWI), Nazi Imperialism (WWII), and communist imperialism (the 40-year Cold War that included the Vietnam Battle, commonly called the Vietnam War, but itself a major battle in a larger war) covered almost the entire century.

The first major war of the 21st Century is the war between Western Judeo/Christian Civilization and Wahhabi Islam. It may last a few more years, or most of this century. It will last until the Wahhabi branch of Islam fades away, or gives up its ambitions for regional and global dominance and Jihad, or until Western Civilization gives in to the Jihad.

Senator John Kerry, in the presidential debates and almost daily since, continues to make 3 scary claims:
1. We went to Iraq without enough troops.
Truth: We went with the troops the US military wanted. We went with the troop levels General Tommy Franks asked for. We deposed Saddam in 30 days with light casualties, much lighter than we expected.The real problem in Iraq is that we are trying to be nice - we are trying to fight a small minority of the population that is Jihadi, while trying to avoid killing the large majority that is not. We could flatten Fallujah in minutes with a flight of B52s, or seconds with one cruise missile - but we don't. We're trying to do brain surgery, not amputate the patient's head. The Jihadis amputate heads.
2. We went to Iraq with too little planning.
Truth: This is a specious argument. It supposes that if we had just had "the right plan" the war would have been easy, cheap, quick, and clean.That is not an option. It is a guerrilla war against a determined enemy, and no such war ever has been or ever will be easy, cheap, quick, and clean. This is not TV.
3. We proved ourselves incapable of governing and providing security.
Truth: This too is a specious argument. It was never our intention to govern and provide security. It was our intention from the beginning to do just enough to enable the Iraqis to develop a representative government and their own military and police forces to provide their own security, and that is happening. The US and the Brits and other countries there have trained over 100,000 Iraqi police and military, now, and will have trained more than 200,000 by the end of next year. We are in the process of transitioning operational control for security back to Iraq. It will take time. It will not go with no hitches. This is not TV.

Remember, perspective is everything, and America's schools teach too little history for perspective to be clear, especially in the young American mind.

The Cold war lasted from about 1947 at least until the Berlin Wall came down in 1989. Forty-two years. Europe spent the first half of the 19th century fighting Napoleon, and from 1870 to 1945 fighting Germany.

World War II began in 1928, lasted 17 years, plus a ten year occupation, and the US still has troops in Germany and Japan. World War II resulted in the death of more than 50 million people, maybe more than 100 million people, depending on which estimates you accept.

The US has taken a little more than 2,000 KIA in Iraq. The US took more than 4,000 Killed in action on the morning of June 6, 1944, the first day of the Normandy Invasion to rid Europe of Nazi Imperialism. In WWII the US averaged 2,000 KIA a week for four years.

The stakes are at least as high . . . a world dominated by representative governments with civil rights, human rights, and personal freedoms . or a world dominated by a radical Islamic Wahhabi movement, by the Jihad, under the Mullahs and the Sharia (Islamic law).

I do not understand why the American Left does not grasp this. They favor human rights, civil rights, liberty and freedom, but evidently not for Iraqis. 300,000 Iraqi bodies in mass graves in Iraq are not our problem?

The US population is about twelve times that of Iraq, so let's multiply 300,000 by twelve. What would you think if there were 3.6 million American bodies in mass graves in America? Would you hope for another country to help liberate America?

"Peace Activists" always seem to demonstrate where it's safe, in America. Why don't we see Peace Activist demonstrating in Iran, Syria, Iraq, Sudan, North Korea, in the places in the world that really need peace activism the most?

The liberal mentality is supposed to favor human rights, civil rights, democracy, multiculturalism, diversity, etc. Wherever the Jihad wins, it is the end of civil rights, human rights, democracy, multiculturalism, diversity, etc. Americans who oppose the liberation of Iraq are coming down on the side of their own worst enemy.

If the Jihad wins, it is the death of Liberalism. Everywhere the Jihad wins, it is the death of Liberalism.

Abortion Questions For Both Libs and Conservatives

Libs: are you against a woman using drugs during her pregnancy? If so, then why is it okay for a woman to have an abortion because it is her own body and her own choice, but not use drugs?

Conservatives: (that believe that abortion is okay) Why is it that most conservatives who believe that Roe v. Wade should stand as it is, LOVE Scalia? They love Scalia so much so that they would LOVE to have all 9 Justices share his philosophy. I find it strange every time a non-social conservative expresses love for Scalia because now adays, most of the issues before the court are social issues. If you want Roe v. Wade to stand, or don't care about homosexuals marrying then why would you LOVE Scalia? And why would you want more of him on the Supreme Court? This doesn't make sense to me.

Roe v. Wade is the case everyone is fighting for. If there were more Scalia's on the court it might be in jeopardy. Is this really such a bad thing though? Even if you are pro-abortion.... just because the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade that doesn't make abortion illegal. I don't think people understand this. It just means that the legislature - the people that should have been in charge of this in the first place - will have to make rules. OH NO! The court SHOULD NEVER have made a decision like this, this is a political question, and it should have been in the hands of the legislature from day 1.

Affirmative Action

I am sorry for the recent posts on minorities... but we are discussing this topic in Constitutional Law, so it has me thinking...

What good does affirmative action do?

The way I see it, the government/world should be colorblind. You shouldn't get a job/into college because you are black, white, hispanic, or asian. Affirmative action forces us to look at color and make distinctions between races. And minorities are for this? I thought they want to be equal? It is impossible to say that you want "equality" yet you are for affirmative action... at least the way I see it.

Why do you want to get a position that you are not qualified for? In our discussion yesterday, my professor made a point that poor blacks don't get as good of an education as whites and this is why affirmative action is necessary - because their test scores are not as high as whites and therefore they won't get into graduate schools such as law school/medical school. Well, it seems obvious to me that the remedy should not take place at the college, job, or graduate school level. I understand that our education system needs a mega face lift.. but people that are not qualified to get into these schools or hold certain jobs are getting in because of their skin color. Some say: they might not be qualified but it adds diversity. I am sorry... but I have not experienced ONE benefit of having a "diverse" school. Blacks, Hispanics, Gays, and Whites don't contribute enough to my classroom for a "diverse" education. The professors spend the majority of the time lecturing and if a student is being called on they are discussing a case from our assigned reading... not some life changing experience that is going to benefit us all.

Sorry to make this short... but I have to get to class!

Minorities

I have a question. And I am being serious when I ask this question.... Why are minorities Liberal?

Lets start off with gays. Democrats ARE NOT for gay marriage (FYI). So why be liberal? Is it because they see conservatives as bible huggers? This doesn't make sense to me. I can see if you are more liberal in other areas... but a lot of gays aren't. The Democrats are doing nothing for gay marriage... they are not pushing for it in any way shape or form. I think it is odd how minority groups automatically side with the liberals just because it is "what they are supposed to do". One might say that it is because Republicans are Christian and view homosexuality as immoral. This is true, but most Democrats view homosexuality as immoral as well - there really is no difference here. Someone explain!

Now what about African Americans? I could go on and on about this forever... but I have to make it short because I have to study. WHY IN THE WORLD ARE BLACKS LIBERAL? Socially they are more conservative, and fiscally they are liberal. What have the liberals fiscally done for the black community in the last 50 years? Basically they have kept them poor and dependent on the government. Why is this acceptable for African Americans? Liberals band aid the issue by trying to give them the smallest amount of money possible to get them by. While conservative look in the future and try to do what is best down the road - AKA: giving them a free education and trying to get them placed in jobs. If you don't believe that politics plays a HUGE role in this then you are mistaken! Liberals aren't the only ones at fault here... liberals like the fact that these people are poor because they are their voting base (and even if they don't get out and vote... at least they are not voting conservative). Everyone knows if the poor would get educated and start making money that they would vote Republican! Conservatives on the other hand have gotten lazy and basically given up on these people. They don't vote and when they do they vote liberal - so why even bother. That shouldn't be the case... As Republicans we need to look into the future of our party and help these people realize that they don't have to settle for what the liberals have to offer them. I understand that the "Republican" way of doing things takes some hard work and effort but it will benefit them SO much more down the road.

How can this be so clear to me and almost every other conservative but yet the black community still settles for the easy band aid that the liberals offer them? I just don't get it!!!

Halloween

I went to a couple of Halloween costume parties this weekend and there were some REALLY FUNNY costumes!!

Some of my Favorites:

1. A guy wearing nothing but tighty whities with pieces of a curly black wig taped as a mustache, as chest hair and the rest stuffed in the undies.
2. A black guy dressed as a Dave Chappelle character (a KKK member)
3. A guy dressed as Gary Johnston from Team America (after they did the bad make-over on him) he had a turban on and globs of hair pasted to his face
4. A guy dressed as a woman refugee
5. RR was a HOTTTT boxer!!!
6. A couple dressed as the #1 white trash couple AKA: Britney Spears (pregnant version) and Kevin Federline
7. There were many Napoleon Dynamite and Kip characters out last night

Did anyone else see any good costumes this weekend???

Miers Withdraws

What can I say.... I am not shocked that she withdrew. I liked Harriet Miers and I trust the President's choices, however, I like how the conservatives have held a flame under GWB's butt about this nomination!

I have utmost respect for GWB, he is a man of true conviction, he is moral and he does what he thinks is right, and doesn't care one bit what anyone else thinks about it - especially the liberals! I know that his approval ratings are down, and he is dealing with other problems but this is NO time to give into the liberals just because he wants things to run as smoothly as possible. We knew when we re-elected him that we would have to replace 2 Supreme Court Justices, and many conservatives feel let down by his choices. It isn't that Roberts and Miers aren't qualified. It is the fact that neither Roberts or Miers have a record to back them up, and Republican's have been let down TOO many times by President's and their "trust me" nominations.

I think this is a good thing for our party! Republicans have been a solid party because we don't waiver on the issues. If you are a Republican, people know where you stand (for the most part). This will send a STRONG message to the Candidate in 2008: We are not going to elect someone who is not a strong conservative and who is not willing to back the conservative platform and his voters!

Any new ideas on 2008 candidates?

Okay, I officially stopped watching MTV after the war began because of the morons that run that program and the idiots who are on it! However, Laguna Beach has drawn me back in - you know... the OC is the MOST Republican county in America!! Since I have started watching Laguna, my TV would stay on MTV, and the Real World would come on, or a show called Next - basically what I am saying, is that I was starting to enjoy MTV again! That is why when Madonna was doing a show about her tour I thought "interesting", I was sure I would enjoy that!

WRONG... I had to switch it half way through. She is nuts. Michael Moore was at one of her shows and she actually gave him a shout out and said that we need to clone that fat guy. IS SHE SERIOUS? A ton of people boo'd her - and I would have to! They interviewed people after the show and some of them said that they were disappointed because they didn't know that they were going to a Democratic Convention - they thought they were just going to a show. After that show, she said that it was her duty to inform the world about what is going on - and that we need to stand up for what we believe in and what is right. And GWB isn't doing that? I think the thing that I can't stand most is Hollywood's dumbest getting on stage and telling us how they feel. WHO THE HELL CARES - No one asked for their opinion and quite honestly they should concentrate more on how to form a sentence rather than politics. Their lack of intelligence is overwhelming and all they are doing is trying to spread ignorance across this country.

They need to concentrate on making music or movies because that is their job and that is what they are good at. They need to stop shoving their idiotic beliefs down peoples throats and let America make their own EDUCATED decisions!

The Sky Ball

I am going to the Sky Ball tonight with RR. It is a military fundraiser and yes, the President will be there!!! It is going to be at an airport hanger and GWB will be flying over in a fighter plane and then landing and coming to the party. RR told me that Cheney was also in town - so we might have the pleasure of meeting him as well. Are the President and VP allowed in the same room together? I never understand all of that security stuff!!!

I am really excited to go, it is going to be a lot of fun! RR and I are planning on stalking the President. I NEED MY PICTURE TAKEN WITH HIM!!! The theme was denim and diamonds... does anyone know what the hell that means? RR and I decided that we didn't want to look like idiots so we went the diamond route. We are going to be all decked out in cute little black dresses and a TON of diamonds!

I will let you guys know how it went! Wish us luck!!!

Everyone knows Kennedy as one of the "swingers" on the court, and while I happen not to agree with him on some of his decisions, I had the pleasure today, to be taught by the Justice in 2 classes.

It was really amazing... he made Scalia jokes, and he would call the other Justices by their first names. He happens to like Roberts. He told a story about talking to Roberts many years back and he told Roberts that he would end up on the court eventually. That he just needed to go the civil route in his law career and it would be fine. At the time Roberts didn't believe him - and sure enough look where Roberts is now!

Justice Kennedy is a funny funny man. He had the whole room rolling with laughter. He was asked what the coolest part of being on the Supreme Court and he said - July and August. He doesn't remember any of the cases by their names... you must tell him some of the facts before he can recall how he ruled or anything else about the case.

Well, I just thought I would share some of the highlights of my day! I know how most of you feel about Kennedy (including myself) but you have to admit it is amazing to actually meet in person and be taught by a brilliant powerful man!

City officials just announced the Houston Hurricane Evacuation Plan:

* Hispanics use I-10 west to San Antonio

Louisiana: Residents wait for government to protect and evacuate them.

3. Texas: Local & state officials take responsibility for protecting
their citizens & property.
Louisiana: Local & state officials blame federal government for not
protecting their citizens & property.

4. Texas: Command and control remains in place to preserve order.
Louisiana: Command and control collapses allowing lawlessness.

5. Texas: Law enforcement officers remain on duty to protect city.
Louisiana: Law enforcement officers desert their posts to protect
themselves.

6. Texas: Local police watch for looting.
Louisiana: Local police participate in looting.

7. Texas: Law and order remains in control, 8 looters tried it, 8
looters arrested.
Louisiana: Anarchy and lawlessness breaks out, looters take over city,
no arrests, criminals with guns have to be shot by federal troops.

8. Texas: Considerable damage caused by hurricane.
Louisiana: Considerable damage caused by looters.

9. Texas: Flood barriers hold preventing cities from flooding.

blames Bush.
Texas: Media can't find poor blacks in need of assistance, looking for
something else to blame on Bush so they move on to Delay.

14. Texas: Coastal cities suffer some infrastructure damage, Mayors
tell residents to stay away until ready for repopulation, no interference from federal officials.
Louisiana: New Orleans is destroyed, Mayor asks residents to return home as
another hurricane approaches, has to be overruled by federal officials.

15. Louisiana: Over 400 killed by storm, flooding and crime.
Texas: 24 killed in bus accident on highway during evacuation, no storm
related deaths.

16. Texas: Jailed prisoners are relocated to other detention facilities
outside the storm area.
Louisiana: Jailed prisoners are set free to prey on city shops,

17. Texas: Local and state officials work with FEMA and Red Cross in

19. Texas: Fuel deliveries can't keep up with demand, some run out of
gas on highway, need help from fuel tankers before storm arrives.

Cars run out of gas at gas stations that can't pump gas. Gas in underground mixes with flood waters.

20. Texas: Mayors move citizens out of danger.
Louisiana: Mayor moves himself and family to Dallas.

21. Texas: Mayors continue public service announcements and updates on
television with Governor's backing and support.
Louisiana: Mayor cusses, governor cries, senator threatens president
with violence on television, none of them have a clue what went wrong or who's responsible.

22. Louisiana: Democratic Senator says FEMA was slow in responding to
911 calls from Louisiana citizens.
Texas: Republican Senator says "when you call 911, the phone doesn't
ring in Washington, it rings here at the local responders".

First of all, I just want to say that this is a horrible horrible tragedy... and I just hope that things get better soon for everyone involved.

I am having conflicting thoughts about all of this though... I personally believe that we need to help everyone - these people are AMERICANS and human beings and I would hope that there would be someone willing to help me if something tragic ever happened here in Fort Worth. I am volunteering at local shelters here... I want to help out and do what I can. However, there is only so much we can do. Geraldo said it best... "the great state of TEXAS is actually making this tragedy better - they have housed over 200,000 people there and let's be honest... these people are all on welfare and will likely stay there after this is over." This could possibly be a HUGE burden on our economy and job market in the future.

I don't want to turn anyone away but come on - there is only so much we can do here... what are all the BLUE states doing? It seems to me that the RED states are the only ones doing anything here - last time I checked the liberals only argument was that Conservatives only care about themselves while the liberals care about the poor and working class.... if this is the case, why is it that the Republicans are opening their homes and pocket books to help these people while the liberals are doing nothing but complaining that Bush is a racist and politicizing this tragedy? This doesn't make sense to me... then again - nothing liberals say makes sense.... it is ALL TALK. It always has been and it always will be. I just hope that this opens a lot of peoples eyes. Maybe the poor will for once understand that the liberals are full of CRAP!

I am proud of our Texas Government. We implemented a HUGE rescue plan in less then 24 hours to help the people of Louisiana. Texas was organized and ready to take on something like this in an instant, which is more then I can say for Louisiana or the New Orleans Mayor.

People want to blame Bush and the federal government for this, but what about the local governments? I will admit, there were problems with ALL 3 levels of government here - but everything starts at the local level. The mayor knew this was a possibility for a long time and should have been prepared for it. As of right now though, we should be focusing on helping the people that have survived this tragedy and save the politics for later!

I have the solution for the prevention of hijackings, while at the same time getting our airline industry back on its feet.

Since men of the Muslim religion are not allowed to look at naked women, we should replace all of our female flight attendants with strippers. Muslims would be afraid to get on the planes for fear of seeing a naked woman, and of course, every businessman in this country would start flying again in the hope of seeing a naked woman. We would have no more hijackings and the airline industry would have record sales.

Okay, has anyone read about this mom that is protesting the war in Iraq and says that she will not pay her 2004 taxes because her son died fighting over there?

Everyone who knows me, knows that I appreciate what our troops are doing over there, and 100% support them. And my heart goes out to any and all family members of the men and women who have died for this nation. I am just shocked that this mother is acting the way she is... I cannot imagine losing a son or daughter, but he died in HONOR and doing what he wanted to do.

Right now she is posted outside of the Bush ranch, claiming that "You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you'll stop the terrorism," and how she isn't paying taxes for 2004 because she lost her son in the war. She says that if Bush can bring back her son then she will pay taxes. Fine don't pay taxes lady, but she isn't going to be much help sitting in a jail cell for not paying them! I think it is sad that people act in this manner instead of remembering their loved one and honoring them for what they did!

Carter is yet again lashing out against the war in Iraq and calling for the prison in Guantanamo Bay to shut down. He believes that it is an embarrassment to the U.S. to detain terrorist prisoners there. WHAT??? Typical liberal - lets just free the terrorist... why not? He also thinks that by holding the terrorists there we are giving excuses to potential terrorists to lash out and kill more innocent people. Maybe he missed the year 2001-2002... What should we do in order to protect our transportation systems from being used by terrorists to commit their hateful crimes against Americans?

I will tell you what we need to do... we need to search! I am so sick and tired of people complaining about racial profiling. HELLO, we know the exact person who is committing these crimes! I am all about civil liberties, and protecting individual rights, however, this really isn't invasion of anyone's property or rights... we are protecting the rights of MANY by searching FEW. It isn't an 80 year old grandmother bombing the subways in London or flying airplanes through buildings in America... it is youthful Muslim men. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who we need to be profiling and searching here.

Before people start going off on me... 1. I don't think that these men should be hassled or harassed - just their bags searched. and 2. I also believe that we should have random searches as well. It doesn't make sense to ONLY search the young Muslim men. Once the enemy knows who we are looking for they will then find someone else to do their dirty work for them. BUT we KNOW who is committing these crimes of terror - so why not search these men????

In my daily scan of the Drudge Report something jumped out at me, it said: Dean Urges Dems to Court Pro-life Voters.... WHAT?????

Dean stated that "Democrats need to reach out to voters who oppose abortion rights and promote candidates who share that view" He claims that Democrats need to change their stance on this issue. Republicans have painted a pro-life party and he doesn't know ANYONE in America who is pro-abortion. Before all you liberals get your panties in a wad and start pointing out how Dean is NUTS (which we already know) Dean's arguments are just echoes of former President Clinton and his crazy wife in the past month or so. YES THAT IS RIGHT... YOUR IDOLS ARE GOING PRO-LIFE... OH NO, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW????

NOTE: Dean still believes in individual and personal freedom. HA HA

This was a surprise!!

Everything I have read about Roberts is fairly vague. I am pretty sure he hasn't spoken out on one issue - so we really don't know if he will turn out to be more conservative or liberal. It scares me a little that the NY Times/Washington Post don't have anything negative to say, while Ann Coulter is up in arms. The shit really hasn't hit the fan. I was hoping the Dems would be freaking out, and trying to find a way to undo their filibuster deal.

Red, White and Commie commented on one of my posts with an article for Republicans to read! This article is written by a former Senator/very moderate conservative. I would have just posted a rebuttal from a moderate liberal - however, I don't think there are any Christian ones out there! I am going to post the article here with my comments about it! This is going to be F-U-N!! (my comments are in the beautiful colors!)

IT would be an oversimplification to say that America's culture wars
are now between people of faith and nonbelievers. People of faith are
not of one mind, whether on specific issues like stem cell research and
government intervention in the case of Terri Schiavo, or the more
general issue of how religion relates to politics. In recent years,
conservative Christians have presented themselves as representing the
one authentic Christian perspective on politics. With due respect for
our conservative friends, equally devout Christians come to very
different conclusions.
No one is judging other Christian's here. No one is saying that you have to believe in what we do to be a devout believer in God. However, to be a devout CHRISTIAN, as I am sure most of your faith's/religions would tell you, have the same beliefs as Conservatives. SAVE THE POSTS LIBERALI'S... I am not saying you all hate God, and that you all are immoral jerk-offs (well, most are... But not all). But facts are facts.... Not all conservatives are pro-life, not all conservatives believe in the death penalty... But for the most part MOST conservatives do believe in the morals/values of Christianity, end of story!

It is important for those of us who are sometimes called moderates to
make the case that we, too, have strongly held Christian convictions,
that we speak from the depths of our beliefs, and that our approach to
politics is at least as faithful as that of those who are more
conservative. Our difference concerns the extent to which government
should, or even can, translate religious beliefs into the laws of the
state.
Exactly what are these strong Christian convictions again? You believe that we should all share??? I think we had a debate under the 10 commandments post about that one... Sorry but that isn't a strong argument for the libs!

People of faith have the right, and perhaps the obligation, to bring
their values to bear in politics. Many conservative Christians approach
politics with a certainty that they know God's truth, and that they can
advance the kingdom of God through governmental action. So they have
developed a political agenda that they believe advances God's kingdom,
one that includes efforts to "put God back" into the public square and
to pass a constitutional amendment intended to protect marriage from
the perceived threat of homosexuality.
Conservative Christians DO have the right and obligation to bring our values into politics. It is OUR RIGHT to have our beliefs upheld and to not be taken away from us. The liberals will fight and scream INTOLERANT at the top of their lungs... However they are trying to take OUR rights away from us... The difference here is that WE HAVE THESE RIGHTS TO LOSE... These are our rights! Gays don't have the right to get married, women didn't have the right to have an abortion (now they do thanks to activist justices) yet somehow the liberals will make you believe that these rights do actually exist and the Republicans are the ones trying to take them away. This paragraph is a little melodramatic! We don't believe that we will advance the kingdom of God through governmental action - actually we are trying to do what is moral and right... Instead of letting this country get more and more immoral and tacky by the day.

Moderate Christians are less certain about when and how our beliefs
can be translated into statutory form, not because of a lack of faith
in God but because of a healthy acknowledgement of the limitations of
human beings. Like conservative Christians, we attend church, read the
Bible and say our prayers.
Hmmmm... The limitations of human beings? Is he trying to say that our limitation is killing an innocent baby, and letting homosexuals get married? This is just a polite way to cover up their lack of faith... There is no other way of putting it. If you want to be pro-choice, or for gay marriage - by all means do so! Republican's wont hate you, or despise you... But don't tell me you are a devout Christian who is just acknowleging the limitations of human beings... WEAK!

But for us, the only absolute standard of behavior is the commandment
to love our neighbors as ourselves. Repeatedly in the Gospels, we find
that the Love Commandment takes precedence when it conflicts with laws.
We struggle to follow that commandment as we face the realities of
everyday living, and we do not agree that our responsibility to live as
Christians can be codified by legislators.
I commend people who live by this commandment - it is one of the most important ones. But this guy, as well as liberals take this commandment out of context. REPUBLICANS ARE NOT INTOLERANT, GAY BASHING, RACIST people. We don't care what you do on your own time... We live by this same commandment. Just because we don't agree that gays should be allowed to get married doesn't mean that we don't love our neighbors as ourselves. We aren't hunting them down and burning them at the stake! Just because we don't want innocent babies to die doesn't mean we aren't loving our neighbor as ourselves. This argument is old and worn out.

When, on television, we see a person in a persistent vegetative state,
one who will never recover, we believe that allowing the natural and
merciful end to her ordeal is more loving than imposing government
power to keep her hooked up to a feeding tube.
So liberals believe that starving someone to death is merciful and natural? Wow, so much for love thy neighbor as themselves huh? Come on! THIS IS MURDER! And it is far from Natural and merciful - it is more for greed and selfishness, 2 things liberals do best! The ACLU fought and fought for this woman to die... However, they FIGHT AND FIGHT to protect outrageous murderers from the death penalty or to make sure that the terrorists we have captured are still getting their 5 course meals or their favorite cereal - WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE???? You have it all backwards!

When we see an opportunity to save our neighbors' lives through stem
cell research, we believe that it is our duty to pursue that research,
and to oppose legislation that would impede us from doing so.
Liberals will use the "love thy neighbor" for anything and everything possible. It is a weak excuse to kill!

We think that efforts to haul references of God into the public
square, into schools and courthouses, are far more apt to divide
Americans than to advance faith.
How will this divide Americans? If public/private places want to put up the 10 commandments they should be allowed to do so. We are not forcing people to pray when they walk into the courthouse. OKAY let me just stop right here for a second... Has anyone else reading this stopped and thought - THESE GUYS ARE NOT CHRISTIAN? You fight and fight to do everything against Christian beliefs, you fight and fight to prevent anything Christian from being spread, should we just walk around and pretend it doesn't exist? That will bring Americans much closer!! GOOD IDEA!

Following a Lord who reached out in compassion to all human beings, we
oppose amending the Constitution in a way that would humiliate
homosexuals.
PLEASE FOR ONCE will a liberal stop using "compassion" and "love thy neighbor" as a way out!!

For us, living the Love Commandment may be at odds with efforts to
encapsulate Christianity in a political agenda. We strongly support the
separation of church and state, both because that principle is
essential to holding together a diverse country, and because the
policies of the state always fall short of the demands of faith. Aware
that even our most passionate ventures into politics are efforts to
carry the treasure of religion in the earthen vessel of government, we
proceed in a spirit of humility lacking in our conservative colleagues.
HERE WE GO AGAIN - the LOVE COMMANDMENT - I think I am going to be sick! First of all we are not trying to promote church and state together - that is called a monarchy. This is separation of church and state - we are not promoting our religious agenda into the government - what we are doing is what this country has been doing since it has been founded - it is the liberals trying to push their agenda on us.

In the decade since I left the Senate, American politics has been
characterized by two phenomena: the increased activism of the Christian
right, especially in the Republican Party, and the collapse of
bipartisan collegiality. I do not think it is a stretch to suggest a
relationship between the two. To assert that I am on God's side and you
are not, that I know God's will and you do not, and that I will use the
power of government to advance my understanding of God's kingdom is
certain to produce hostility.
I am not saying some liberals are not on God's side - you very well might be. I don't think conservatives are better people then liberals either... But we do have different views... And they ARE Christian views... If you choose to call us "better" because of it then that is YOUR term for it! And FYI - we are not using our Christian views (aka: advancement of God's kingdom) to produce hostility or win elections - REPUBLICANS truly believe in these Christian morals and values. We are strong and firm believers and that is why we are a strong party and that is why we WIN!

By contrast, moderate Christians see ourselves, literally, as
moderators. Far from claiming to possess God's truth, we claim only to
be imperfect seekers of the truth. We reject the notion that religion
should present a series of wedge issues useful at election time for
energizing a political base. We believe it is God's work to practice
humility, to wear tolerance on our sleeves, to reach out to those with
whom we disagree, and to overcome the meanness we see in today's
politics.
Tolerance again... If I had a flippen dime for every time a liberal used that excuse I would be the richest person in the world!!!!!! Hey - if you are Happy being a "moderate Christian" then more power to you - but that isn't what WE are... Most liberals usually argue that they are just as much of Christians as Republicans are... Which one is it? If you want to call yourselves moderate Christians - I can say I actually agree with you for once!
Like I said above, we don't have to use our religious views to gain more votes - we firmly believe in these values, and the people know it.. it is the libs who feel like they have to bring them up every election!

For us, religion should be inclusive, and it should seek to bridge the
differences that separate people. We do not exclude from worship those
whose opinions differ from ours. Following a Lord who sat at the table
with tax collectors and sinners, we welcome to the Lord's table all who
would come. Following a Lord who cited love of God and love of neighbor
as encompassing all the commandments, we reject a political agenda that
displaces that love. Christians who hold these convictions ought to add
their clear voice of moderation to the debate on religion in politics.
Republican's understand that not everyone shares the same faith. That is a no brainer. Certain things are worth standing up and fighting for though. I would NEVER walk into a synagogue and start preaching my Catholic views to the Jewish community. I know my views are not wanted there. It is not the right place or right time. We welcome everyone... And different religions can come together - but that shouldn't come at the cost of us losing our values and morals as a Country. There will be a minority of atheists who want to bring this country down... Yes I understand that - and I believe it was the red, white and commie (maybe it was hey brother - I get all you commies confused) who stated that we should uphold the rights of the minorities - that is true... Their rights are being upheld by allowing them to believe or not to believe in any form of God they choose. I wish you liberals would start following what you preach. 1. You are so tired of conservatives pushing our values and morals on you - well we are tired of you pushing your lack of values and morals on us! 2. Stop acting like Republicans are intolerant and judgmental, when it has been the liberals who are the ones intolerant of Christianity here!

Sandra Day O'Connor Retires

After 24 years as a Supreme Court Justice, Sandra Day O'Connor has announced her resignation today! I have mixed feelings about this - one thing is for sure though... ALL HELL IS ABOUT TO BREAK LOOSE ON CAPITOL HILL!

What a SHOCKER! There have been many rumors that O'Connor would soon retire, but EVERYONE thought it would be Rehnquist first! Who would have ever guessed that the fence-riding Justice would be the first to go! Liberals must be FREAKING out right about now!

Like I said above, I have mixed feelings about her retirement. On one hand I admire the lady more then anyone in the world!!! She was the first woman allowed into Stanford Law School, she was an Arizona State Senator, she somehow accomplished the "unheard of" cross-over to become an Arizona County/Court of Appeals judge, and of course this wonderful lady was the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court by Ronald Reagan. She has accomplished SO much and it is sad to see her go!

On the other hand though, she has been the swing voter in many important cases (including a few recent decisions). Her retirement will be for the better of the court, that way George W. Bush can appoint a stronger conservative!

Bush stated he will appoint another Justice before the new term begins in the fall, he also called for a "dignified process" in the Senate to confirm the nominee "characterized by fair treatment, a fair hearing and a fair vote." HA HA HA HA . Does anyone else find this funny? Like the commies aren't going to piss and moan!!!

I personally hope that GWB appoints another woman to the court. I am not a feminist trying to promote my own agenda, I just think the court should remain balanced! There have been MANY speculations of who GWB might appoint - most are men though! What do you guys think??

Why is it When Liberals Lose They Blame Everyone But Themselves?

While reading the Washington Post, I came across an article that said: "Democrats Say 2004 Election System Failed in Ohio". I immediately became interested... My first thought was; no way the commies are pulling another "Florida" scam on us. Oh, but yes... Once again the Dems. Are nothing but sore losers!

Democratic Party officials claim that our election system is to blame for more Liberals not voting in Ohio. The system "frustrated" or "disenfranchised" voters - in particular African Americans, new registrants, younger voters and voters in places using touch-screen machines. Has it ever occurred to ONE SINGLE liberal that maybe it is YOUR PARTY that frustrates and disenfranchises voters??? Of course these statements were made by the one and only - Howard Dean... GOTTA LOVE HIM!!!

The DNC enumerated a series of "problems" on Election Day in Ohio: too few voting machines, long lines, ballot problems, intimidation, and trouble finding the voting place... This caused many voters to give up and go home. I am no expert in the voting process... But it seems logical to me, that this isn't the first election this has occurred. So why is this now a sudden problem? Oh, because the Dems lost yet another election - so they need something/someone to blame... I almost forgot! People are lazy and just give excuses of why they didn't want to vote that day - it's nothing new! The Dems. Also did a statistical analysis, that found a clear lack of confidence in the system among African Americans. NEWS FLASH! African Americans for the most part don't vote... It's not because of long lines, or too few voting machines. Anyone could have told the DNC that!!!

While the Dems. Concluded there was no evidence of fraud in the outcome, (aww... How sweet of them) they need to get over blaming everyone else for losing an election and start blaming themselves and their stupid voters! If the Dems voters can't wait in line like the rest of us, then they don't deserve those votes. Vote early - you have weeks to early vote if you don't want to wait in line!! If the Dems. Voters don't understand a touch screen or Florida Ballot then maybe they need to hold a "how to vote" class... Do something - just stop blaming US!

I don't want to hear any jabberwocky from the Court TV amateurs about "the establishment of religion." (1) A Ten Commandments monument does not establish a religion. (2) The First Amendment prohibits Congress from making any law "respecting" an establishment of religion Â meaning Congress cannot make a law establishing a religion, nor can it make a law prohibiting the states from establishing a religion. We've been through this a million times.

Now the Supreme Court is itching to ban the Pledge of Allegiance because of its offensive reference to one nation "under God." (Perhaps that "God" stuff could be replaced with a vulgar sexual reference.) But with the court looking like a geriatric ward these days, they don't want to alarm Americans right before a battle over the next Supreme Court nominee. Be alarmed. This is what it's about.

10 COMMANDMENTS

I am disappointed with the Supreme Courts ruling about the 10 Commandments. Justice O'Connor waivers again! You can view the 10 commandments in 2 lights. The first being a religious view and the second a historical view.

God and faith are extremely important in everyday life... I could go on and on about the religious aspects of why the 10 commandments should be allowed into any building, the maker sees fit. However, I understand that this Country is not made up of only Christians... So lets look at the historical aspect of it.

This country was founded on Christianity. The immigrants and founding fathers created this country through Christianity, the bible and God. There is no way to get around this. We post the 10 Commandments in our Government buildings and Court houses because they symbolize what this very country believes in and was founded on. Just because 2% of this country doesn't believe in God, shouldn't mean that everyone else has to suffer for it. Fine you don't believe in God - great, we could care less, no one is trying to force you to believe in him. BUT don't try to re-write history and forget what this country was founded on.

Freedom of Speech and Belief should apply to EVERYONE. If you want to preach that God doesn't exist by all means do. But don't be hypocritical and deny us our freedom of speech and belief. The majority of this country is Christian, and this country was founded on those beliefs - so if you have a problem with the history of this country, and OUR freedom of speech - then leave!!!!!!!!

Last time I checked the 10 Commandments are included on a statue outside the Supreme Court building... And there might even be statues of them inside as well - Does this ruling make sense to anyone else???

What did everyone think of President Bush's speech last night?

I missed the live speech but I read it online, and it was impressive. It did clearly illustrate his plan for Iraq, what he wants to accomplish, the enemy we are facing, the great things that we have done for people of Iraq, the strength they will gain with our help, and it also helps American's remember why we are there in the first place.

Should Karl Rove Apologize?

HELL NO! Honestly, what in the world did he say that was SO bad, and untrue for that matter?

Rove, Bush's chief political adviser, said in a speech Wednesday that "liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers." Conservatives, he told the New York state Conservative Party just a few miles north of Ground Zero, "saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war."

First of all, he used the term liberals... Not specifically Democrats. So why are the Democrats up in arms? Unless they consider themselves liberals, which is news to most of this Nation! They try so hard to steer clear from any liberal identity, but for some reason the comment that Rove made pissed them off.

Second, it is common knowledge that almost all liberals do want some type of therapy for everything... Criminals, the answer to our problems, etc... So what he said isn't a lie. Moveon.org Clearly stated that they were against the war... Even in Afghanistan. They claimed right after 9/11 happened, it is the United States fault we were attacked, and that we basically got what we deserved. Now, I understand that most of you reading this might think that sounds crazy... Even the Democrats in Congress don't think that... Or do they? It has been pointed out that many of the Democrats - including Kerry this past election, have taken campaign money from moveon.org. How can they justify taking money from organizations such as moveon.org that are clearly against the war on terror, yet freak out and go ballistic when Karl Rove claims that liberals are against the war, and unaffected by 9/11? Does this make any sense to anyone???

Should Karl Rove apologize? Should he resign? You know what I think....

Flag Burning Amendment

The House Wednesday approved a constitutional amendment that would give Congress the power to ban the desecration of the American Flag. The amendment must then be approved by a 2/3 majority in the Senate... And then to the States for ratification.

It is NOT surprising that the Democrats (of course) voted against this amendment while the Republicans voted for it. Now, can it be ANY MORE obvious which party is Patriotic, and which one loves America? If we EVER burnt a Koran in this country the Democrats would be up in arms!!

As I was listening to the Gary McNamara show yesterday he proposed a few questions:
What exactly are we fighting for here? Is this a violation of freedom of speech? At what point can we still respect our Country but not violate people's freedom of speech? What do you all think?

One thing ALL AMERICANS need to remember: If we as Americans don't love and respect OUR country - no one else will!!!

Democrats PISSED about Conservative Media! HA HA

Does anyone else find this funny? I was reading an article in the NY Times that claims the Dems want Kenneth Tomlinson, head of Public Broadcasting, fired because they are concerned that he is injecting partisan politics into public radio and television.

Last time I checked - ALL MEDIA IS LIBERAL EXCEPT FOR FOX NEWS!!! Maybe we as Republicans should look into firing all other network station heads, for injecting their immoral, valueless, liberal views into radio and television!!

NOMINATIONS

So the Dems blocked Bolton's nomination today... And I don't think this is the last we will see of this. I know this wasn't a judicial nomination but I am sure it will forecast what is to come. The commies acted as if they would be slightly decent when dealing with Bush's judicial nominations and the filibuster. HA HA! Like that would last long! You KNOW that the guns are going to come out when Rehnquist retires and a war in Congress will begin. The one consistent thing about the Dems is that they never keep their word! It is going to be interesting to see what happens in the near future with Supreme Court nominations... As if I already didn't know!

IDEAS FOR 2008

I am just going to start a new post for our comments about the Presidential race in 2008. We all know Hillary WILL run in 2008. Do you even think she will get her party's nomination?
Let's just say she does... We are going to need a strong candidate and a strong party to beat her. Who do you think is best for the job? I know Giuliani is going to run... But I think he I too liberal for our party. As Republicans we need to stick to a more conservative candidate. Republicans vote Republican for a reason. We might not agree with every issue but it is better then the alternative. If we have a gay rights activist and pro-choice candidate up for election, there would be no difference between the left and right on those issues - and MOST Republicans are pro-life and against gay marriage. I think it will upset most Republicans and honestly I don't think he will get the nomination. I also don't think Condi is ready for President yet. She is an amazing woman and I hope she runs in the future... However, it was said by Ann Coulter that she needs to actually run for office first, and I agree. We need to stick to a pure conservative man at this point... And maybe a more moderate woman like Kay Bailey for VP. I personally like Lizzy Dole better though.. She is admired by most Republicans and not as in the middle as Kay Bailey.
So any good suggestions on who will make the best candidate in 2008? I was watching Foxnews the other night and they were interviewing a very conservative senator from Kansas. He mentioned he was interested in running for President... He might be someone we should look into! I don't think we should fall into the trap of picking someone who is "electable"... or someone who will gain the moderates and independents. I think this past election is the perfect example of why we shouldn't. The country was pretty much torn in half... GWB still WON though!! Why? The reason why people voted for GWB last year was because on his morals/values. If we can win such a tight election with not as much support as we are used to, then we can win all the time. We just cannot mess up it up, it is in our hands and for us to lose!!

KAY BAILEY STAYS IN DC!

Yesterday the news reported that Kay Bailey Hutchison has decided not to run for Governor of Texas! (did anyone else hear this?) I don't know about all of you - but I am thankful for that! I personally like Rick Perry. He is a strong Christian man that stands up for the Republican Platform and backs the Bush Administration.
The last thing the Republican Party needs when gearing up for a BIG election in 2008 is a huge, expensive, mud slinging primary in the LARGEST Republican state - or anywhere for that matter. We need to keep things positive, and keep things conservative!
Rick Perry is a solid conservative who can run on what he stands for, his values, and what he has accomplished during his last term. He adamantly opposes tax increases. He was victorious over the budget crisis, [which nearly every Governor has experienced]. Texas had a $10 billion deficit. Perry is the ONLY Governor to have balanced the budget without raising taxes. In fact, in this session of the Texas State Legislature Governor Perry is tangling with some fellow Republicans, a few of whom want to raise taxes and revenues. The Governor's answer has been consistently NO. Perry is Pro-life, Pro-family, he led the passage of the Defense of Marriage Act, the Women's-Right-to-Know Law, and the Pre-Natal Protection Act. He also takes President Bush's position that one does not destroy potential human life in the name of scientific research (aka he is against stem cell research!)
Now I know that not every Republican is pro-life, or against stem cell research... Kay Bailey herself is not. I do admire Kay Baily Hutchison (as a matter of fact... I want her job!) BUT I think she should stay doing the job she is best at - which is in the U.S. Senate. Texans elected her to the senate and that is where she belongs. We need to keep the Republican Party strong at all levels, from the state, to congress, to the white house.... no fighting, no ousting fellow Republicans, no mud slinging!

KICK THE MEDIA OUT!

Should the media be kicked out of Iraq? Hell ya it should be!! Why in the world do we need a bunch of negative left wing reporters snooping around places they shouldn't even be? If we believed everything the media told us, we would all think that Iraq was a huge mistake, all of the people of Iraq hate us, they don't appreciate anything we have done for them, and OUR soldiers are nothing but monsters. I think it is funny when a non-biased reporter actually goes to Iraq only to find that most of the people do actually appreciate and support us, they are just scared.
Everyone over there is scared... Can you actually blame one of our soldiers for killing an innocent person? Of course not. Yet if an American, God forbid kills an innocent person in Iraq they are slaughtered in the media. THIS IS WAR PEOPLE!!! Innocent people die.
I am tired of the human rights activists butting their nose into every detail of our foreign policy... "Don't injure the civilians" and "make sure if we capture the enemy to treat them humanely!" Of course, why wouldn't we treat them humanely? They only torture our soldiers/civilians for a few days before cutting their heads off and parading them through Iraq. We are not dealing with civilized people here!!!! We need to take a different approach and treat them the way we have been treated. I don't think our soldiers nor our government should have to watch their P's & Q's while at war. Torture the suckers to get information out of them, and if they keep beheading our people behead theirs until they stop! We have to stop playing nice and start acting like this is war! Innocent people are going to die during this war, they already have... We need to get the job done in Iraq - the sooner the better. The American Soldiers need to be able to do their job without constant badgering by the media and human rights groups. They need to be able to get in there, get the job done, and come home safely. NEWS FLASH PEOPLE:::: This isn't working the way things are now. We have 20-40 people dying daily in Iraq, all whom are innocent. Wouldn't it make more sense to cut out the slow but sure death toll that rises daily, and replace it with a couple of days worth of letting loose and our soldiers kicking some ass? I personally think more American soldiers' lives would be preserved... And that is what is important here! The media needs to come home and let our government and our soldiers take care of business. This war would end quickly and we could start rebuilding a more peaceful Iraq and have our soldiers home safe.
