MTV
Okay, I officially stopped watching MTV after the war began because of the morons that run that program and the idiots who are on it! However, Laguna Beach has drawn me back in - you know... the OC is the MOST Republican county in America!! Since I have started watching Laguna, my TV would stay on MTV, and the Real World would come on, or a show called Next - basically what I am saying, is that I was starting to enjoy MTV again! That is why when Madonna was doing a show about her tour I thought "interesting", I was sure I would enjoy that!
WRONG... I had to switch it half way through. She is nuts. Michael Moore was at one of her shows and she actually gave him a shout out and said that we need to clone that fat guy. IS SHE SERIOUS? A ton of people boo'd her - and I would have to! They interviewed people after the show and some of them said that they were disappointed because they didn't know that they were going to a Democratic Convention - they thought they were just going to a show. After that show, she said that it was her duty to inform the world about what is going on - and that we need to stand up for what we believe in and what is right. And GWB isn't doing that? I think the thing that I can't stand most is Hollywood's dumbest getting on stage and telling us how they feel. WHO THE HELL CARES - No one asked for their opinion and quite honestly they should concentrate more on how to form a sentence rather than politics. Their lack of intelligence is overwhelming and all they are doing is trying to spread ignorance across this country.
They need to concentrate on making music or movies because that is their job and that is what they are good at. They need to stop shoving their idiotic beliefs down peoples throats and let America make their own EDUCATED decisions!

I agree with The Anti-Liberali's comments. I would also add that we should all boycott Hollywood movies and concerts. At least the jokers who trash the U.S.A.,don't make them any richer than they are. Maybe we can ruin a few careers!
I wish. Sadly, Tim Robbins, Barbara Striesand, Green Day and Alec Baldwin will continue to have money, and as long as they do, people who order Cosmo and J-14 and the like magazines will listen.
Playing Devil's Advocate for a moment A-L, but why shouldn't people listen to them, when they have money and fame, and listen to you or me or any other bloggers, who are nobodys? :-D
Everyone has the right to say what they want... and that includes the stars - what I was saying is that I am sick and tired of them preaching their idiotic believes to even dumber people who listen.
The difference from what they do at shows and what I am doing here is that I am not trying to change someones mind. I am posting on this blog with the intention to just rant and rave - and I would hope that other intelligent people (from either side or no side) come on here as well. The stars like green day or Madonna preach their beliefs on people in hopes that they will inturn vote the way they want them to. Look at the whole vote or die campaign. You have idiots like Brad Pitt and Ashton Kutcher walking around telling the poor people how sorry they feel for them and that they should go vote for Kerry because they are famous. Or attending college campuses in hopes that they will get stupid little girls to go to the polls and vote for Kerry because Brad Pitt visited their school. That is ridiculous!! They need to start using their fame for something worth while - how about telling their fans to go and get more EDUCATED on the issues and make an EDUCATED decision.
I don't believe that they need to hide their belifs in any way. If I was famous, I would still hope to sing at a Republican convention or attend Republican events etc... BUT I would NEVER just promote one candidate at a show or totally act even more ignorant and bash the other. I would promote voting and I would do it in a non-partisan fashion. I would just ask all my fans to please go learn about the issues and vote!
And you know what, that is what most Republian stars do! Yes, there ARE Republican stars out there - you just don't hear their political views because they have class. Why is it that ever damn liberal thinks that every person wants to hear what they have to say EVERYTIME they speak? It doesn't matter where - at an award show, at a concert, on an interview, in their book etc... Do they ever shut up? Do they not realize how dumb they sound?
I agree with EPK - that would be an ideal world! I don't mind supporting people's movies/bands if they are liberal as long as they shut the hell up and do what I am paying them to do - act/sing. And the minute those idiots start talking about their political views and trying to shove them down everyones throat it would be AWESOME if people just stopped supporting them. That would send a message to all those ignorant morons!!!
I agree. It's one thing to be a political commentator. It's another to be a musician and try to influence people into voting a particular way.
I'll be the first to admit, I love Bill Maher. I think some of his stuff is freakin hillarious. However when people like Michael Moore or Tim Robbins get on and say something sooooo far out in left field, I can't help but laugh when two or three people clap. Dunno what that had to do with anything, just thought I'd share. :-p
I agree with you about MTV. However, I still turn it on sometimes. I just can't get enough of Laguna Beach and the Real World-Austin. It must be a leftover hangover from my College days.
I don't like Madonna. She's also picked up a british accent thats retarded. Yes I believe she does have a home there, but come on.
Oh and her "sexy dancing" isn't sexy anymore. And her new music sucks. I'll stick with Material Girl and Like a Prayer.
Just wanted to let you know that the OC is not a city. It's a county. Laguna Beach is a lovely city in Orange county that was founded as an artist's colony. Laguna offers some of the most beautiful beaches in the country, as well as some interesting artist festivals. Laguna actually is one of the few cities in Orange County that is not a Republican stronghold. In fact, 60% of voters in Laguna voted for Kerry in the last election. Just thought I would disabuse you of your misconceptions that the OC is a city and that Laguna is Republican. You may now want to stop watching MTV altogether.

As for Laguna... I still love the show - as long as people aren't preaching their political views then I love the entertainment!

I am not sure where anyone mentioned Orange County. Please point this out to me? I mentioned Laguna Beach. I am familiar with the OC and their bankruptcy years ago. Rep. Dreier is from the OC and I absolutely love him.

Sorry Eddie - I mentioned it in the actual post. I said that I didn't mind watching laguna beach - because the OC was the largest republican city. It isn't a city as lilly pointed out... and which I did actually know.

What I don't get is why do all the guys like Kristen? I admit - she is BEAUTIFUL! but oh my gosh... her voice is SO annoying and she is just SO immature!!
I think Kristen is hot. Does that make me a pervert? Anyway, I don't think all the girls like Steven as much as Jason. Perhaps it's b/c Jason is a baseball star and Steven is shy, I don't know.
